Great views of Lagoa Verde and Lagoa Azul. However, a more beautiful view is located a little away from the crowds. Additional parking is available just below the viewpoint.

The climb leads through a beautiful jungle section. Very slippery when it rains. When you're almost at the top, the recommended path leads to the right into the bushes. After half an hour it ends. Be sure to continue straight on the other hiking trail.

Prepare to go under a cow fence through a private pasture and up a very challenging forested downhill mountain bike path. It is steep and looser gravel for about a mile. This area is not as well marked with the commonly seen red and yellow flashes between miles 6 and 8.

Buses connect major towns, but for direct access to specific starting points for touring cycling routes, especially those in more remote caldera areas, a car or taxi is often more convenient.
