A steep but worthwhile climb. The return path leads into the botanical garden, which is well worth seeing.

The lake's water level depends heavily on the season and the amount of rainfall over the past few days. In summer, the water level is usually low. Nevertheless, it's worth a look, especially since it's located directly next to the parking lot.

The Angrense Theatre is located in the historic center of Angra do Heroísmo, within a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the city's main concert hall and one of the most important in the Azores, symbolizing the cultural identity of the locals since the late 19th century. Founded in 1860, it has hosted major national and international names, with a particular focus on local artists, both musical and theatrical. Externally, it is a building with neoclassical influences, crowned by a triangular pediment.

We took 1:45 with a 9 year old to hike this trail. The ratings are accurate and half of the trail going up is technical and requires climbing. When raining we would recommend hiking poles. It’s very beautiful and fun.

The Garden of the Duke of Terceira is a well-kept garden in the historic center of Angra do Heroísmo. It is one of the classic gardens that represent the romanticism of Portuguese history. It is part of the municipal gardens of the city of Angra and can be visited free of charge. Be sure to take the long tour. From the highest point you have a fantastic panoramic view.
