History. The Church of St. James the Elder, dating from 1492, was built thanks to Otto Pilecki's foundation. In the years 1750–54, it was thoroughly restored with funds from Szwarczewski and Father Józef Napiórkowski, after the interior and furnishings partially burned down. It was renovated in 1827, 1959, 1990, and 1999. I highly recommend seeing it.
