St. Hedwig Basilica in Trzebnica

Basilica of St. Jadwiga - a church built under the invocation of St. Bartholomew and the Blessed Virgin Mary is the oldest sanctuary in Silesia and one of the most important necropolises of the Silesian Piasts and a place sanctified by the cult of St. Hedwig. The three-nave basilica is 80 m long and 23 m wide. The central nave consists of four square bays covered with groin vaults. From the original late-Romanesque building (beginning of the 13th century), the framework of the walls, two portals (David's and the Adoration of the Blessed Virgin Mary) and the crypt of St. Bartholomew located under the presbytery. In the middle of the presbytery is the tomb of Prince Henry the Bearded and the Teutonic master Konrad von Feuchtwangen.
On both sides of the presbytery there are chapels: St. John and St. Hedwig. St. George's Chapel Jana has retained its original character and mood. In the center is the symbolic grave of St. Jadwiga (in the place where her relics were placed during the construction of the chapel of St. Hedwig). The second chapel is the first building in Poland built in a purely Gothic style (the chapel was erected in 1268–1269). The chapel houses an impressive Baroque sarcophagus of the Saint, made of marble and alabaster. Under the canopy, supported by columns, rests her alabaster statue.

It looks like the city tore up part of the road surface, and the metal sheets covering the expansion joints are sticking out more and more.
