The brick church in Krościenko Wyżne is impossible to miss, because it has a large tower and stands at the crossroads of roads towards Krosno, Iskrzynia and Pustyn. To the left of the church, on a side street, there are parking lots. WW --------------------------------- The church presents a silhouette and architectural detail characteristic of Polish sacral architecture of the early 20th century. This work of an outstanding creator, architect Teodor Talowski, is characterized by a picturesque combination of neo-Romanesque and neo-Gothic forms. The church is also a spatial dominant in the village development. The parish in Krościenko Wyżne has existed since the 14th century, the oldest mentions of the church date back to 1377. Construction of the current church began in 1908 and lasted until 1914. In 1992, the roof truss was renovated and its covering was changed from ceramic roof tiles to copper sheet. The facility with a small garden is located in the corner of the Market Square, above the Town Hall. It mainly offers ice cream from a vending machine, of various types. On hot days, you can find some shade in this part of the Market Square, near the tenement houses. Plus, there's no busy road running through this corner, so it's quieter here. WW

Catholic priest Jerzy Popiełuszko is the heroic chaplain of Solidarity. He supported workers, said masses for the homeland, which made him a victim of the communist propaganda apparatus, and then he was brutally murdered by officers of the state Security Service in 1984. Being next to this monument today, I did not know that on this day - June 6, is the fourteenth anniversary of the beatification of Fr. Jerzy Popiełuszko. WW

It is a two-story building built in 1896. Over the years, the town hall has been rebuilt many times, which is why it is completely different from its original appearance today. The town hall in Brzozów was rebuilt again in the 1940s, resulting in a wooden structure that raised the town hall tower by two storeys. In this way, the town hall gained a beautiful viewing area. At the same time, 20 years later, the wooden structure was changed to a brick one. The entire building is made of brick and plastered. Today, the town hall is open to tourists because inside it there is now the Regional Museum. Adam Fastnacht. The seat of the City Hall itself is currently located in a different place. The Brzozów-Zdrój nature and educational trail offers an easy route through a forest with a diverse species composition, including: oaks, sycamores, firs, larches, pines and ash alder forests. At the beginning of the path there is a parking lot, a large shelter, a fireplace and benches. The path has 14 educational stops presenting various aspects of the forest, from habitats to tree forms. An interesting fact is the connection with oil exploration, when mineral waters were discovered instead. Despite the destruction of the two-story spa house during World War II, traces have been preserved in the form of ruins of foundations, wells and remains of parks. The path is worth visiting all year round, especially in spring and autumn.
