Beka Nature Reserve

Highlight • Natural Monument

I do not want to ride a bicycle. The cyclist does not look at nature only under the jola because the entire ride is on tragic and without any care spread out concrete slabs. The clanking of bicycles scares away all birds - this route is a misunderstanding.

Settlement of Seal Hunters in Rzucewo

Highlight • Historical Site

The settlement of seal hunters from the Stone Age, 3 to 2 thousand years BC. It is located at the „Rzucewski Cape”. The hills of the Puck and Swarzewo Hillocks provided shelter for tribesmen of seal hunters already in the Stone Age, who settled there. The late Neolithic Age (2500-1700 BC) was a very important period in the prehistory of our region where the first seal hunters’ settlements appeared at the shores of the contemporary Gulf of Puck. The range of their settlements reached the current villages of Rewa, Mrzezino, Osłonino, Rzucewo and Ostrowo. They have created a strong, original culture, known from characteristic ceramic artefacts, amber products and stone tools. The Rzucewo settlement of seal hunters was discovered in 1894, but the first archeological excavations led by professor Józef Kostrzewski took place in the years 1927-29 only.
The excavations were initiated anew in 1984 and are still carried on. Rzucewo became an important research site of the Stone Age in Pomerania, and the term „Rzucewo culture” was adopted in the history of civilisations.

The „Jan III Sobieski” Castle in Rzucewo is the third or the fourth object built in this location. The former castles were erected by the Wejher and Przebendowski families, the present castle was built at the order of the von Below family; it was designed in gothic Tudor style by the architect Frederick August Stüller in 1840.
Restored in mid- 1990s and converted into a hotel and an all-year restaurant the castle provides perfect conditions for conferences, meetings, wedding parties and other social events. There is a horse stud nearby and a unique Cultural Park – Settlement of Seal Hunters.

Rewa Waterfront

Highlight • Beach

The name of the village comes from the shoal, a sandy shoal stretching almost continuously from the tip of the headland to the bank of the Hel Peninsula.

Rewa is located at the mouth of Mostowe Błota. The town is entirely located in the Coastal Landscape Park and is covered by a special protection area for habitats, "Zatoka Pucka and the Hel Peninsula". Behind the southern buildings of the village there is the Mechelińskie Łąki nature reserve with its buffer zone to the south along the coast. The area around Rewa is included in the "Zatoka Pucka" special bird protection area.

Ferry tickets can be purchased in the container in front of the "big white egg" building. The actual timetable is also posted there. The online timetable only provides general information; sometimes trips are canceled due to a lack of passengers. The photo shows the timetable as it was on May 7, 2025.
