The first source mention of the castle comes from 1604 and concerns the reconstruction by the Sieradz voivode Jan Stanisław Bykowski[2]. After World War II, the building was transferred to the state treasury. In the years 1959–1964 it was thoroughly renovated and intended for educational purposes. The building is surrounded by the remains of a historic park. Currently, it houses the Agricultural Advisory Centre.
