We reach a hill where the Tollenstein castle ruins are located. The castle was first mentioned in a document in 1337, and its original name was Dohlenstein. We explore the grounds, not everything is freely accessible. There is also a lodge here, we get the tickets and gain access to the upper castle rock. From the watchtower, we look down into the valley. If the sun is shining there, to our left is actually the Tannenberg, but it cannot be seen from here. When the castle spans the rock, we continue further up. The castle was destroyed by the Swedes in the Thirty Years' War in 1642 and not rebuilt afterwards. From the very top, we look around us, see St. Georgenthal further down, look towards Tannenberg, from here too the view changes every second, it sometimes becomes almost black around us. A fantastic natural spectacle in the clouds. For a moment, we are lucky, we see the peak of the Tannenberg and even briefly the tower on which we stood. We go back down the castle and leave the grounds. https://youtu.be/SWy51bMcY8k

Benešov nad Ploučnicí has been a town since at least 1392, when it was granted the town rights of Mladá Boleslav by Jan of Michalovice. In connection with the development of the town government and the activities of the town office, the need for a town seal arose. Its use is documented only in 1452. The seal has not survived to the present day, but we know its description - "a smooth heart-shaped shield, above which a bear's head could be seen". The oldest Benešov town seals that have survived come from three typewriters made in 1590. All three typewriters are still kept in the State District Archive in Děčín. In the seal field of all three sealers, the half-shield is smooth on the right, latticed on the left, and above the upper edge of the shield, the upper half of the figure stands out, which is interpreted as the head, part of the body and front paws of a bear.
