Nin is the oldest Croatian royal city. The picturesque old town is located on a small island in the middle of a lagoon. Nin has the smallest cathedral in the world. You enter the city via a brick bridge with a great city gate. As soon as you walk through it, you are captivated by the atmosphere of the old town. I was particularly fascinated by the remains of a Roman temple. The old town is small but beautiful.

What I really liked is that you can sit outside on the stone steps and definitely also celebrate a church service.

Absolutely. The islands of Ugljan, Pašman, and Pag are excellent for mountain biking. Ugljan and Pašman, connected by a bridge, offer routes through olive groves and along coastlines. Pag Island is particularly known for its unique, rocky, moon-like landscapes and features over 120 km of well-marked mountain bike trails for off-piste exploration. While specific pubs or cafes directly on every trail are not guaranteed, many routes pass through or near towns and villages where you can find refreshments. To find less crowded trails, especially during peak season, consider exploring routes further from the immediate Zadar city center or popular coastal areas. The Velebit Nature Park and some of the more remote sections of the islands like Dugi Otok can offer a more solitary experience. Visiting during the shoulder seasons (spring and fall) will also naturally lead to fewer people on the trails.
