Beavers helped create this pond — or at least their impressive damwork helps maintain it as it is. A lot of the trail is runnable, but in places it turns into a jog-slog as you navigate rocks, muddy patches, and moss or patches of wet leaves that can be dangerously slippery underfoot. The destination (and the trail itself) is beautiful though, as long as you don't mind power-hiking or some surefooted running, depending on your comfort level.
