Jogging along these miles of sandy beaches is a unique experience: The constantly changing, soft, uneven surface trains your musculoskeletal system in a completely different way than solid ground, and at least visually, even after 10 kilometers, you still get the impression that you haven't made any progress. At least you'll be warmed up enough to enjoy a dip in the cool waves, even in the often chilly weather up here.

Blokhus Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Northern Europe, stretching for miles, with the finest white sand and high, wind-protecting dunes. You can drive along the beach from Rødhus in the south to Løkken in the north and buy freshly caught fish right there on the beach almost every day. Dogs on leashes are also welcome on the beach year-round. There are also good kitesurfing and windsurfing opportunities here. https://www.visitjammerbugten.de/jammerbugten/reiseplanung/blokhus-strand-gdk597039

From May 1st to September 30th, 47 white bathing houses are located on Blokhus beach. In the past, bathing was done in an dignified manner from bathing carriages that were placed close to the water, but later also openly on the beach. Bathing carriages were gradually replaced by bathing houses. They were designed for changing and staying. Bathing took place directly from the bathing house and they were pulled by horse or by hand as far into the water as possible so that bathers could step directly into the water. This way, bathers avoided exposing their bodies too much, because bathing suits were considered at the time to show an indecent amount of bare skin. As the number of bathers increased, the practice of pulling the bathing houses into the water had to be abandoned and so they remained on the beach and were used as changing rooms. Nowadays, Blokhus has permission to set up 47 bathing houses on the beach, but only between May 1st and September 30th. All other bathers can use today's modern bathing carriages, namely their own cars, because in Blokhus you can officially drive your car directly onto the beach free of charge. https://www.visitjammerbugten.de/jammerbugten/inspiration/die-strandhaeuser-am-blokhus-strand
