The moor provides a natural habitat for moor frogs and adders and is fascinating for the vibrant green, brown, and red tones of its plants. Sphagnum mosses, sedge, rush, and mud sedge, among others, grow here. It is particularly beautiful in May/June when the cotton grass is in bloom and in August when the heather is in bloom.

The current building was rebuilt in 2004 by the people of Ehren and the exterior was adapted to the original. The old wooden beams come from a chicken coop in Borkhorn. One of the neighbors rings the bell regularly every morning. Originally, the prayer school in Ehren was used for Sunday prayers - the journey to Löningen was long. It also served for Christian instruction, hence the name prayer school. The Ehren prayer school used to stand behind the farms on what was then Dorfstrasse. The original building fell into disrepair after the Second World War. The old bell, which dates back to 1725, was loaned to Evenkamp during this time. The cross was found in the attic of the Evenkamp school in 1850.
