The Wahnbach Dam is located in Siegburg-Seligenthal and serves as a drinking water supply. The reservoir was opened in 1958 and is primarily fed by the Wahnbach stream. It has a dam as a barrier. Before the Wahnbach Dam was built, the current reservoir area housed the "Lüttersmühle" (Lutters Mill), the "Wahntaler Schweiz" (Wahntal Switzerland) inn, and two farms – "Hillenbach" and "Petershof," which stood on the site of the former Hoffnungsthaler Hütte (Hope's Valley Ironworks). The residents of these houses had to be relocated. At the inlet of the Wahnbach stream, where the current foredam stands, there was the "Herkenrather Mühle" (Herkenrath Mill) inn. (Source: Wikipedia)
