Track crossing in the Bad Bentheim forest adventure trail

This railway crossing offers a unique experience. It's permanently closed, but with the push of a button on the crossing post, it opens when no train is approaching. Once you've crossed the tracks, another post appears, and a person seated elsewhere asks if the crossing is clear. If it is, the crossing closes again. It's operated remotely on command. This is something we don't have in the Netherlands!
