Walking along Bony Street beneath the Royal Castle towards Sanowa Street and the newly constructed bridge over the San River, on the left you'll pass a corner plot with a group of old trees. The area is fenced and inaccessible, but the trees are clearly visible. Bony Street is relatively new, so the plot in question belongs to Rybacka Street, which is invisible from here and runs beneath the Orthodox church and ends in a dead-end. More details are provided by the Central Register of Forms of Nature Conservation (excerpts below). "Data Form for a Natural Monument 1. Works of art in the open-air museum

The official name of the open-air museum is the Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok (MBL). It covers a vast area on the right bank of the San River, limited from the north by a high escarpment, on which the Biała Góra housing estate is located, and from the east by the forested area of the Słonne Mountains. A great attraction is the Galician Market Square, where various occasional events are organized, e.g. before the holidays. The open-air museum lives according to its own calendar and is eagerly visited not only by tourists but also by the residents of Sanok. On the open-air museum area, divided into geographical and cultural sectors, you can visit many wooden buildings and see their equipment. The resourcefulness of the residents of that time, who were able to live and support their families in very modest conditions, without electricity, running water, gas and so many devices that we cannot imagine life without today, is admirable. The oil sector is a separate attraction. To get a better understanding of the range of objects gathered here, it is best to use the services of a guide. WW

The monument, erected in 2023, commemorates the inhabitants of the Sanok region who were deported to the East during World War II. Currently, a bicycle path is being built right behind the monument as part of the maintenance of the riverside recreational area called Sybiraków Boulevard. The Sanok Land was divided along the San River by the German-Soviet border under the Ribbentrop-Molotov Agreement of 1939, called the fourth partition of Poland. Both occupiers - the Germans and the Soviets - carried out barbaric cleaning in their part of the occupied Polish territory. This border survived until June 1941, when the Germans attacked the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. WW
