Really nice viewpoint and place to stop and admire the view. Close to the car parking area and you can do the short loop or go down the valley and around keepers or incorporate a longer forest walk. Plenty of options!

Nice place to see the river and listen to the flowing water. There is a little path that takes you down to the water edge if you want a paddle

Amazing viewpoint with views across the forest and rolling hills. Sadly can’t get a sunset from here due to being in the valley but great during the day and in the afternoon before the sunsets

Lovely little spot to sit and practise forest bathing or just take in your surroundings. This bench is located near the river and in the middle of the forest. If the bench is taken you can always find a spot next to the river instead for a picnic

A red mountain bike trail in Brechfa Forest. There are only basic facilities so bring your own food and drink or detour to visit the pub in the local village. It's a typical Welsh trail centre, so expect a lot of climbing on this one!

Yes, Brechfa Forest is a popular destination for dog walkers. Dogs are welcome, but they should be kept under effective control at all times to protect wildlife and livestock on adjacent lands. Please be mindful of other forest users, such as cyclists and horse riders.
The trails vary significantly in length. You can find short, easy loops of around 1-2 miles (1.6-3.2 km) that take less than an hour, as well as more challenging hikes over 12 miles (19 km) that can take a full day. The Bridge Over the Stream – View of the Forested Hills loop from Llanllwni is a good example of a shorter, 2.7-mile (4.4 km) walk.

Accessing Brechfa Forest by public transport is challenging due to its rural location. The main car parks are not directly served by regular bus or train routes. The most practical way to visit is by car. If you plan to use public transport, you would need to travel to a nearby town like Carmarthen and then take a taxi.
