Also a seriously fast descent, particularly with a tailwind. A bit narrow, but pretty straight and good sight lines, so no surprises. You get plenty of warning for slowing down as some buildings start to pop up before you hit the intersecting B-road.

Nice path connecting 2 sections of Barnton Avenue. Rather narrow on the west side and generally shared with pedestrians, take Gamekeeper's Road instead if you're in a hurry.

Save the Roseburn Path! There is a consultation online - proposals are underway to bulldoze the path and put trams in. https://consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/sfc/tram-north-south/ Edinburgh has a wonderful network of off road cycling in a beautiful environment and they are planning to take it away. Keep Edinburgh green, keep our cycle spaces safe!

When I’ve ridden it, it’s been quiet. The scenery is beautiful - if you can take your eyes off a narrow road! 🤣 Perhaps best of all it’s not so much challenging as great fun to ride, whatever speed you want to ride.

Nice wide and smooth cycleway. Scenic views are thrown in for free. What's not to like?

A couple of Km's of climbing. Unpleasant as you switch-back left into Temple, yet perfectly do-able. Temple itself is a pretty, wee village (Large cars parked all around suggest that it's become a bolt-hole for the well-to-do), although you'll probably want to get to the top before you stop for a photo.
