The hairpins are still great fun but the rise above has deteriorated quite a bit. Starting to require a few 100m walk if on road tyres but still worth it

Very demanding climb, especially with 10kg panniers! A few flat sections and descents to catch your breath. The view at the top (and the descent towards Dores) are worth it!

No traffic whatsoever. The road gets a bit gravelly in some places but it’s all good on a road bike. Expect lots of sheep. You’ll come across a gate a few kilometres up the hill and there might be some cows on the field alongside.
