There's a bench to rest on

traffic free but well surfaced with hard packed gravel and partial tarmac, this bridleway is fast going and a decent winter option when most other trails have turned to mud

the canal bank here loops it's way around hillsides and has great views over the local countryside. The towpath itself is totally flat, but has not been improved so it rocky in parts and muddy in others. It's fast going when dry but claggy in the wet
