Open Saturdays and Sundays 0900 - 1500 Nice coffee and cake stop, comfortable and dry, sit outside or in the barn (which is a wedding venue). We came in November on a Sunday and it was open.

The small, stone-built sacred monument found here has the typical shape of a "Celtic Cross" (sometimes misleadingly referred to as an "Irish Cross" in German-speaking countries), meaning that a circular cross is drawn around the crossing where the cross's longitudinal and transverse beams meet. The nearby church, to which the cross points the way, can of course also be viewed online in the komoot system =>> https://www.komoot.com/de-de/highlight/1347741

I would recommend a true off roader for this route as it is rather hard on normal bikes

Alnmouth is famed for its seaside views, tranquil beach, and stone-built houses. Sitting in one of Northumberland's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it makes for a beautiful scene seeing it from across the Aln estuary here just off the A1068.
