During my lunch break, I wanted to take my mind off work. I opened Vegashero (https://vegashero.co.at/) on my phone and was pleasantly surprised by its user-friendliness. Even in a short time, I managed to switch off and relax a little. This kind of relaxation was very welcome. I can recommend the platform to anyone looking for short but enjoyable breaks.

The port of Punta del Este is definitely a special place to stay. The relaxed atmosphere invites you to sit by the water and watch the hustle and bustle in the port. The sea lions sunning themselves on the harbor walls are a real highlight. So if you are looking for a bit of peace and quiet and a great view of chic yachts, this place is perfect. There are also a number of restaurants nearby where you can end the day in a relaxed manner with a cool drink. Tip: It's best to take a camera with you, because the sea lions offer great photo opportunities!

Just come to the end of a really pleasant weekend sojourn with a friend down here in South America. A cross border jaunt by ferry from Buenos Aires to Montivideo, then an eight hour round trip drive to hike up Cero Catederal, Uraguay’s highest point. With its altitude sapping 514 metres, it is was my 30th high point, and if it took me half an hour, that would be a generous statement. On the way back we also had a visit to the visually non-inspiring Iglesia de Cristo Obrero y Nuestra Señora, a Roman catholic church, in the city of Atlántida, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then to finish off the weekend we had a 15km amble around Montivideo to visit the best sights of the town on its 300th anniversary. All nice stuff done in a charming little country.
