They show people in everyday life – unvarnished, approachable, with curves and wrinkles, often in swimwear, shorts, or everyday clothing. Material & Weight: The unique pieces are modeled from concrete on a carrier material, weigh between 80 and 150 kilograms, and are weather-resistant. Origin: The first figures were created in the 1990s at the Lechnerhof in Witten (North Rhine-Westphalia). Laura Lechner now continues to run the studio. Effect: The figures are located in public spaces (parks, pedestrian zones, squares) throughout Europe and invite viewers to touch, linger, or smile. The hall church was built by Conrad Wilhelm Hase in 1899 in the Neo-Gothic architectural style. The nave, consisting of five bays, is built of natural stone. It is divided into three aisles. The medieval church tower made of rubble stone in the west has been retained. Its ground floor, spanned by a cross vault, dates from the 13th century, the upper parts are late medieval. The uppermost floor has pointed-arched profiled sound arches. The octagonal lantern with the tower clock was only added in 1859. Wooden cross piers with bizarrely profiled imposts support the galleries and the barrel vault made of planks above the central aisle. Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Martin_(Hohnhorst)
