A freshly built and lit bike path which follows S. Batoro street. Going away from the city, it is a little tricky to find the way to enter onto the path, so keep an eye out and make sure to ride up the hill on the right after crossing the bridge. Otherwise you'll have to either push your bike up the stairs or turn around.

Arguably the main entrance to what is known as the Užupis Republic. One could call this place a more diluted version of Freetown Christiania in Copenhagen (fun fact: Christiania houses a "Užupis Republic Embassy", so these places are connected). Lovely cafes, hip shops and overall an amazing vibe in this place. Go for a visit, be careful though - no bike paths and narrow streets.

Great cycling road in Vilnius! Great lake for going for a swim in as well. However, I would advise proper lights in evenings and mornings as drivers often drive quite quickly and the road does not have a hard shoulder for the cyclist to hide in during an overtake of the car.

A relatively easy downhill/uphill section on a forest path. Going towards Mileišiškės, the gradient progressively gets higher with a sudden increase at the end. Can be done with a city bike (35mm tires), however, for comfort and safety would recommend something wider. Look out for sudden root drops and larger rocks. This path is also often used by pedestrians so you need to be careful. This path is recommended as a safer alternative to the asphalt road following the forest path since the asphalt road has blind corners are drivers generally do not expect cyclists on the road.

Did you know? The origin of the name of cries is spoken by an old legend. A crying baby was found in a tree, in an eagle’s nest. The crying was heard by the Grand Duke of Lithuania, who was hunting nearby. The father of the child, the chief priest of the Gentiles, Kriva Krivaitis, explained that he had placed his illegitimate son in that nest himself, that by the will of the gods this baby would have to take his place. A baby named Lizdeika has become a crook, and the area where there was a tree with a nest is still called Verkiai.
