Fischbachalm

Highlight • Mountain Hut

After we parked our car, things started right away.
Without a long run-in time, the first 100 meters of altitude went straight uphill.
For not so strong bikers who are not currently out and about with the e-bike, the tour is very tough right at the beginning.
The last 200 meters of altitude with an incline of a good 18%, it quickly becomes apparent how good the fitness is. Once at the top you can rest at the Fischbachalm and have a drink or something to eat.
Then it goes slightly downhill. The next driveway can easily be overlooked, but then it's about 4-5 km long on a beautiful trail that is exposed 2-3 times and the bike has to be carried briefly.
We then drive towards Vorderriss and then towards Wallgau and then come out towards Krün at the parking lot.
Equipment: good tires, weather-related clothing, plenty to drink

It's the classic stop when you hike the Mittenwalder Höhenweg, as most people do, from north to south and then descend from Brunnsteinanger. Here you have completed the steepest part of the descent and can enjoy a well-deserved refreshment. The view is not as expansive as on the ridge above, but still magnificent.

Beautiful alpine pasture with the entrance to the Lakeiensteig trail. The route via the Fischbachalm and the Lakeiensteig trail to the Soiernhaus is a longer hike, requiring particular surefootedness and a head for heights in the Lakaiensteig area.
