Three massive rocks rising on a bare hill near Praděd in Hrubé Jeseník have always attracted people's attention. In the past, they were most often looked upon with fear, and to find yourself near them meant almost certain accusations of witchcraft. In the 17th century, the cruel inquisitor Jindřich František Boblig from Edelstadt, known from the book Kladivo na charodějnice, designated it as the place of sabbath for all accused unfortunate women during inquisition trials.

Those who want to experience the Jeseníky Mountains in a different way have to get up early. Being on the ridges at four in the morning is almost too late for photography in the summer. But this applies to all mountains in the world

If you've run out of water, this is the place for you. Amazing clear and icy water. Which will sting you on hot summer days.

The rock formation, which is made of slate and roller, can be seen on the northern slope of the hill Vysoká hole (1464 m) directly above the tourist cottage Ovčárna. Petrovy stones are part of the Praděd national nature reserve and are not accessible to tourists. Petrovy stones are botanically unique places of European significance. The relics of the Ice Age survive here - a number of rare lichens and mosses, herbaceous willow and especially two Jesenic endemic species: Jesenic bell and Jesenic beetle. During the witch trials in the 17th century Petrovy stones were called the site of witchcraft. According to the legend, Peter's stones were given the name of a young blacksmith who hid with his girlfriend, the daughter of a Sovereign master estate when he fled to her father.
