The gate, also known as the Lychen Gate, is a gate of the listed city fortifications of Templin in Brandenburg. It is located in the western part of Templin's old town, at the beginning of the street leading towards Lychen. The gate is considered the oldest of the three gates of the Templin city fortifications and also the smallest. It was built during the Gothic period in the first half of the 14th century. The gate tower is three-story and has a square floor plan. The gateway is designed as a pointed arch. The name "Mill Gate" derives from the fact that mills existed in the area of the outer gate since Templin's founding. The last grain mill operated there until 1990.
