This narrow bridge is a weir. Sheet piles are installed here to dam the canal. It's an idyllic spot when there's no flooding.

A wildly romantic field path between the railway embankment and the bridge over the Freienwalder Landgraben. It leads through the fields. Muddy, partly rocky, and full of holes. But great views and natural vistas.

The oldest and most famous geological nature trail in the state of Brandenburg was created in 1964 under the direction of Hans Ohnesorg (1914-1986). In the middle of the 20th century, the rocks exhibited on the nature trail were uncovered in the local gravel pit. The natural monument “Altranft Geological Nature Trail” is now recognized as a protected part of the landscape. It is not only interesting from a geological and geomorphological point of view, but also has a diverse range of flora and fauna. You can study these animals and plants here in peace. Unless there is a guided tour going on, it is very lonely here. For runners, beautiful bumpy trails lead through and past here.
