Update: The museum is not yet fully furnished. It will likely take another year or so. Nevertheless, Forst (Spree-Neiße district) is now kicking off its opening year following the completion of construction – with a partial opening on the weekend of November 22nd and 23rd, 2025. Visitors can tour the new museum free of charge on these first two days, announces Stefan Palm, head of the city of Forst's municipal department for culture, tourism, and marketing. While not all rooms will be accessible, guests will be able to view the new entrance area, including the engine shed – and admire a first absolute highlight: the "Black Jule," the last remaining locomotive of the Forst city railway from 1893. A covered freight wagon will also be on display in the new engine shed alongside it. https://www.lr-online.de/lausitz/forst/museum-in-forst-das-erwartet-besucher-zur-eroeffnung-des-neuen-hauses-78407432.html

Elektrownia Wodna Zasieki Hydroelectric Power Station: Here, the water of the Neisse River is dammed to ensure a continuous supply of water to the hydroelectric power plant's turbines. There's even a sandy beach below the dam. Depending on the water level, this is an impressive sight, and it's worth stopping for on foot or by bike.
