Groenendaal gravel section

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

One of the best gravel spots in the region. As part of the bigger 'Loenermark' you have reached a small gravel paradise. This rolling road through the heather is one of the great gravel roads out there that you simply cannot skip in your ride! Doable for all bikes.

Vrijenbergerspreng Gravel Road

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The Vrijenbergerspreng gravel road runs next to the Vrijenbergerspreng (it's all in the name ;-)).
A spreng is a dug out natural water source on the Veluwe. The source itself is more to the east (you'll need to cross the N-road for that) and runs to the channel it feeds in the west. The gravel road is doable for road racers, but you'll need to be somewhat of a daredevil with a big love for gravel to actually ride this road on your racer. Although it looks like a hardpack Strade Bianche, the surface is often loose with little rocks or sandy. Keeping your eyes on the road here is a smart idea. The places this road take you however are worth the trouble. Not only is it a nice road through the forest, but it will also pass by some nice little waterfalls, including the largest waterfall in the Netherlands!!! Don't jump of your chair just yet... it's next to nothing, but it's everything we have ;-)

Part of the MTB connection route Hoenderlo and Loenermark. Nice piece of forest path, can be quite loose in the summer.

Groenendaal Gravel Section

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The gravel road through Groenendaal is a beautiful gravel road that is really worth a visit. The road is part of the larger Loenermark, an area that is also full of beautiful gravel roads. To the south the road is false flat or even slightly uphill. On the other hand, it's a fantastically fast strip... just watch out for other users :-)
This Groenendaal strip is great for cycling with all bicycles. I have sent my 25mm road bike tires over it many times, but it is of course ideal to cycle with a gravel bike!

Nice piece, but after a period of drought it is uphill on foot because of loose sand

Nice winding MTB route - also the only permitted path for cyclists in this piece of forest. It consists of wide paths so that it can be cycled in two directions and is also good for gravel bikes. Halfway you cycle along a playful piece of sand with roots for some extra technical challenge, but nothing too crazy.

This strip is in my top 3 of the most beautiful gravel strips in Veluwezoom National Park. Because the road slopes slightly downwards, you can reach a nice speed here. In addition, the view is fantastic!

Beautiful connecting route over Hoeve Delle. The rest of this forest is off limits. Great to do with a gravel bike.
