The classic way to cross rivers is still by ferry. You can use the crossing to relax for a bit and/or take a few photos. While you're at it, observe nature and/or chat with the ferrywoman.

Unfortunately, you can't see anything of the Elbe from the cycle path here, as it runs on the side of the dike facing away from the Elbe and the Elbe runs quite a distance away from the dike here. In between there are meadows, some brackish water and the "Alte Elbe", an old, silted-up branch of the Elbe, which, except during floods, no longer has a connection to the Elbe. Therefore, the name "Elbeblick" doesn't really fit here. There are a lot of black kites here, and I've seen and photographed them here several times on my cycle tours. I suspect that Michael marked the wrong place as a "highlight", because his two photos don't show this place either, but rather look like the Elbe near Barförde / Wendewisch.

The Elbe is close by, but unfortunately you can't see it because you're cycling safely behind the dyke. But it is a nice, slippery track with great views of nature.

A beautiful bike path, but you only get a glimpse of the Elbe near Radegast when you are on the bike path, because the bike path is mostly on the side of the dike that faces away from the Elbe. In addition, the Elbe dyke is still a long way from the Elbe on most parts of the route.
