The Kongevejen starts in the town of Endelave and continues to the north-eastern part of Endelave. The course of the Kongevejen in the town of Endelave forms the town's main street. The beach meadows at Endelave Strandvej are called ”Flasken” and are a nature reserve consisting of mudflats. At ”Flasken” there is a bird tower with boards where you can see which birds can be seen at the Bottle. In general, Endelave is a very bird-rich island. However, the largest concentrations of birds are not found on Endelave itself, but on the sea, especially in the north of the island. Large parts of the sea area between Endelave, Tunø and Samsø are less than 10 meters deep, and such shallow areas form an ideal pantry for a large number of diving ducks and swimming birds, among other things, through easily accessible mussel beds. In the quiet, sheltered West Bay lies the village of Endelave By. It is right on the coast with a large contiguous hinterland of good farmland. In 1688 the town consisted of 37 farms and four houses. The village structure was replaced in 1796 by a complicated replacement structure intended to ensure everyone an equal share of fields and meadows, and about half the farms were moved to the island's farmland. The site has retained its village character with a roadside pond at the west end. There are still old half-timbered houses and farms as well as the former school from 1828.
