The Moerputten Bridge is perhaps the most beautiful piece of hidden history in 's-Hertogenbosch. This 19th-century railway bridge, once part of the Halve Zolenlijntje (Halve Zolen Line), winds like a golden ribbon through the marshy De Moerputten nature reserve. Walking across the old, ochre-colored railway structure feels like floating above the water. What was once intended to guide trains through the marshy landscape is now a unique walking path where nature and industrial heritage converge. A wonderful place to escape completely without leaving the city.

Many people avoid this stretch, but it's one of the most beautiful places to walk. Highly recommended.

A beautiful path with wooden bridges winds through the marsh. It can be very boggy and muddy after a wet spell.

Running on this is extremely noisy as the metal plates are very lightly loose. Not dangerous and it doesn't feel flimsy at all, just - loose enough that running on them is like running on a drumset. Besides, you might just want to take your time to look around, it's a bizarre jungly swamp like environment.

Unfortunately, this short boardwalk has disappeared for good and the approach to it (from the parking lot on Deutersestraat) is overgrown. It was a nice detour to get to the former railway embankment.

As of June 2025 this part of the Vlonderpad is closed off and it seems to be overgrown. We couldn’t go there.

Beautiful piece of protected nature. Boardwalk through marshland, wide footpath through the meadows. After a period of rain, the approach route from the Vlijmenseweg can be difficult to walk.

It's a truly special feeling to drive over the curved steel plates. Just be careful of oncoming traffic, as it takes some acrobatic maneuvering to dodge.
