Although on a busy road, but still a beautiful view of the Danube

Günzburg's beautiful old town. There are also plenty of ice cream parlors, cafes, and restaurants. Unfortunately, at lunchtime, the only options were kebabs, pizza, or hamburgers. The restaurants serving Swabian or Bavarian cuisine were closed until 5:00 p.m. It's a shame I had expected more. On the way back to Kirchheim, we came across several beer gardens that were open.

At this location, it is the Margrave Castle of Günzburg. Leipheim Castle is located in the neighboring town to the west (in Leipheim, of course)!

The piglet market was held here on Tuesdays until the 1960s (!). This tradition was remembered again during the redesign of the square (1990), and a design competition resulted in the bronze pig dealer ("Saubarthel").

At Wätteplatz you will find the former horse trough, which later became the piglet market.

A small piece of history along the way: The lovingly preserved mill wheel is reminiscent of earlier times and is idyllically situated on the Brenz River – a beautiful photo spot and a quiet rest stop on the bike tour.

Currently, with so many construction sites, the best view of the Danube and Münster :)
