NOTE: The climb to the old watchtower sa Talaia Moreia from 1604 is in a nature reserve. The hike to the tower is closed and only possible with permission from the nature park administration. We received the following information at the Parc Natural Llevant nature park center (as of September 2023): - Access is from January 15th. until 15.8. completely forbidden (breeding season). - From 15.8. until 15.1. Access is only permitted with permission. The reason is that the nature park administration wants to control the number of visitors. - To receive approval, you must write an email to pnllevant@gmail.com 48 hours in advance. - With permission you can pass the prohibition signs. However, we climbed from the eastern side, so I can't say anything about this western climb from Betlem.

There are a few rangers in the park, we saw about 4 off-road vehicles driving around the park. The path to Talaia is beautiful, fantastic views at the top, you can climb the tower via a ladder that takes you into an interior room. From there you can climb through a hole to the top of the platform. Overall, a fantastic tour, but it is only possible at certain times and with permission.

The path goes up well, marked with the males. After that it will be very difficult. I turned around, the descent was very borderline, if not life-threatening - unfortunately quite lost, it's not worth the view. In any case, long trousers and ankle-high hiking boots should be worn and no longer than the second viewpoint.

Very tough hike! Very poorly marked. At one point it was really steep and very dangerous! While we were at the mill a storm storm broke out and we had to be rescued by the fire brigade!

As of April 25, 2021 - coming from s'Allqueria Vella - only the way down to Betlem was closed. The path that branches off shortly before (with a ladder over the fence) up to sa Talaia Moreia, however, was free. Most of the path is clearly recognizable and marked with cairns. Surefootedness and above all good wind protection is recommended.

The region is rich in history. You can visit the historic Sa Talaia Moreia Watchtower, which dates back to 1604 and offers fantastic views. Please note that access to the watchtower is restricted and requires prior permission from the natural park administration, especially due to breeding season closures from January 15th to August 15th. Additionally, the megalithic complex of Dolmen de s'Aigua Dolça and the prehistoric site Talaoits de Can Pa amb Oli near Cala Camps provide insights into the area's ancient past.
Reserva Natural Des Cap De Ferrutx is known for its dramatic coastline and panoramic vistas. Key natural features include rugged coastal paths, diverse Mediterranean vegetation, and wild beaches like Arenalet des Verger and Arenalet d'Albarca. Yes, the park features remote and unspoiled beaches such as Arenalet des Verger and Arenalet d'Albarca. You can also discover various coves like Es Caló, which is notable for its distinctive rock bridge. The coast offers a mix of rocky areas and fine sandy beaches, providing a serene escape.
The reserve is a Special Protection Area for Wild Birds (SPA) and a Site of Community Interest (SIC), making it excellent for birdwatching, especially during migratory seasons. It also protects endangered animals like turtles and whales, and is home to rare species of fish and corals in its underwater caves. You might also spot colonies of Mediterranean tortoises.
The natural park offers a tranquil environment away from mass tourism. For hiking, spring and autumn generally provide the most pleasant weather conditions, avoiding the intense heat of summer. However, be aware that access to certain areas, like the Sa Talaia Moreia Watchtower, is restricted from January 15th to August 15th due to breeding seasons, and requires permission outside of these dates.
