May 27, 2024, Fire Tower and Radio Tower

This point in the trail is the highest elevation in the reservation, and offers a nice lookout, but we thought the radio tower and fire tower were also really cool to see!

The trails here were at one time blocked off for those visiting Callahan State Park but access between the two is now possible. A walk through the woods and along the fields is always relaxing.

Callahan State Park offers an extensive network of trails through bushy woodland, over open fields and past glistening ponds. It's not too far from the city and remains relatively quiet in terms of crowds, so is the perfect location or an enjoyable stroll in nature.
