The upper dunes are completely closed from March 1st to July as it is a breeding area. You can only go completely around, partly also via the road! It is annoying when Komoot keeps trying to lead you back to the closed path and doesn't suggest an alternative! The announcement that the path is 1.2 km to our right doesn't help!

A beautiful trail through the heart of nature. The trail is partly mountainous, so those who prefer straight, paved routes should avoid it and take the path along the road.

We weren't at all prepared to see free-roaming horses here. We were all the more fascinated by the horses standing on the hills. You just have to stop and watch. It's worth it 👍🏻👍🏻

The bus runs once an hour. The schedule can be found online. Limited space for bicycles. If you're traveling in a larger group, it's best to have a plan B in case everyone can't get along.
