The first lighthouse designed by Achille Buffoni in 1863 was damaged in 1915 by the gunfire of a destroyer during the Italo-Austrian war and was temporarily replaced by a lantern; after restoration with the consequent raising of the tower in 1935 it was reinstalled and again destroyed together with the church and the aqueduct tower in 1944 by Allied bombings; subsequently in 1947 it was rebuilt at the beginning of the palisade by the Genio Civile on the 35-meter-high tower; the figure of the lighthouse keeper having disappeared for about twenty years, it will exceptionally be open these days with a guided tour

Located north of Cesena, Martorano lies between the Savio river and the large centuriated plain with about 2000 inhabitants, reachable by car from the Via Ravennate which connects Cesena to Lido di Savio, or by bike from the splendid elevated cycle path that runs alongside it; the ancient parish church from 1612, now disused, and the new Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart, active since the 60s, are present, as well as various activities in the town, including the historic Central del Latte (Dairy).

The historic heart of the city, rebuilt in 1698 to improve the living conditions of the salt workers, winds along the Canal Port between the San Michele Tower and the majestic Salt Warehouses (Torre and Darsena) where the Musa is housed, which preserves the Burchiella, the ancient iron boat used for the transport of white gold: nestled between the wonderful Salt Pan and the centuries-old pine forest of Milano Marittima, where after a few kilometers you can go from the chaotic traffic of the city center to regenerating paths for outdoor relaxation.

Concentrate in this area and in the nearby Ortazzino, where fallow deer arrived in 2000, there are currently 290, while in 2023 they had exceeded 500 units; the sudden drop is due to the presence of 12 wolves; encountering them during excursions is very rare as they are shy, live in the undergrowth and tend to move at night.
