The approximately 40-hectare Bredenbeker Teich was originally created by Cistercian monks as a fishpond before being converted into a popular public lido from 1930 onwards. The historic country estate "Lindenhof" was built on the western grounds in 1919 and has served over time as, among other things, a rural women's college and a destination for excursions. Today, a spacious campsite, a golf club, and idyllic hiking trails characterize the historically rich natural landscape around the body of water.

The Ahrensburg Castle was bought by Count Heinrich Carl von Schimmelmann in 1759 and then redesigned in the Rococo style. He modeled it after Glücksburg Castle.

The path is not particularly special for cyclists, quite bumpy. It is located in a swamp or moorland area, after heavy rainfall it may not be passable - I have experienced that.
