As of today (11/11/23) signs have been put up prohibiting pedestrians and cycling. They're making progress on fixing the road. I shouldn't have done it but going back would've added 10 miles to my route so I walked my bike through anyway. It's rugged but safer, in my opinion, then trying to ride River Road just west of the Monte Rio intersection where the road is narrow, heavily traveled, and heavily shaded by big redwoods. No idea when they'll finally have the road repaired.

Moscow Road is great to bike instead of River Road as traffic stopped since it became a dead-end after the erosion of the bridge forced the road to close to cars a quarter mile past the campground.
