Tips from the Community

October 17, 2025, Mrtvica Canyon

From the parking lot, we first walked through a forest and then along the turquoise-blue Mrtvica River. The path led through an enchanted forest with mosses and lichens hanging from the trees. This is also where the Gate of Wishes is located. The path continued with stunning views into the canyon. At the end was the most exciting section: A 200-meter-long rock tunnel had been blasted into the rock face by Yugoslav soldiers. So...it's definitely worth it 👍

You can't see the Gate of Desires directly from the path. Follow the sign down; it's not far; it's worth it.

Not worth it. You walk 90% through forest next to river that you don't see. Was disappointing

At this point the descent to the river is not deep and is easily possible.

No cell service. No electricity. Amazing view. Cafe. Guesthouses.

Take enough food with you. Drink plenty on the way. This highlight is about 3 hours away from Camp Vesko.

The absolute highlight of the tour. A 2-3 meter wide path was cut into the rock over several hundred meters. Then there is a super nice bathing area. It's definitely worth going this far.
