September 19, 2026, Fillmore County Fairgrounds and Campground

A nice city campground right on the fairgrounds land with a disc golf course and right on the state bike trail.

Signs about the sinkholes in this Driftless Region with walkways to go out over top of the sinkhole. Kind of overgrown and hard to see what they want you to look at.

September 19, 2026, Shelter

Not sure how they decide where to build these shelters, but there is a very short one here. If it was raining or hailing it would be nice to get out of the elements. Noting it here in case it's of use, also is a nice landmark for tracking distance.

Great state trail that goes through lots of different environments and levels of quality. They are finishing up redoing all the trails going into Harmony which are great!

Preston is a great town to start in, but it has taken me a few runs at it to find the right trail to go to Harmony. They have a better big map now, but a few signs right on the trail would be nice. The first time I did this section, I thought I found the right trail, but it was the one that eventually will goto Forestville State Park. Right now it goes around the edge of town then head into the farm fields and just ends.

Trailhead at one end of Ridgeway, you can take the trail from here SE to Calmar. Or NW to Cresco
