Very beautiful structure. In 1465, Louis XI decided to build a new castle in Langeais. Its architecture reflects the changes that took place at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries: on the town side, the facade has all the attributes of a fortified castle.

There's a little cafe right outside the main drawbridge of the castle which is very reasonably priced. Sat at a table on the pavement admiring the main view of the castle and had an omelette and diet coke for lunch for only 12 euros (August 2019). Definitely a highlight for cyclists in the area around lunchtime!
