Start your hike on the Hector Falls Trail, an easy 1.9-mile (3.0 km) route that guides you through mature forests, rich with hemlock trees. You will begin on a wide, clear old forest service road before it narrows into a footpath. The trail involves a gentle ascent, gaining 254 feet (78 metres) over an estimated 52 minutes of hiking. Your destination is the unique Hector Falls, a 20-22 feet tall waterfall that cascades over a rectangular rock outcrop. When water levels are high, the falls split into two distinct channels, creating a striking visual within a grotto of cliffs and large boulders.

This waterfall spills over a monolithic rectangular chunk of stone. It is a great feature that comes at the bottom of a short hike. Beautiful whether the water is high or low. When the water is high after a rain or in the spring thaw, the water will spill off both sides of the square edges. The trail leads around to the bottom of the falls as well.
