The trails are intertwined and offer the option to create different length loops. Being so disconnected from city life, you can get a lot of solitude out here.

Best known for its hiking, fishing, bird watching, and picnicking offerings, Sangamon River Forest Preserve is a popular spot in the Wildcat Slough portion of the river valley. The trails in the preserve are natural and primarily grass with some dirt paths as well. You get some great views of the water from the trails, and you can also spot a lot of different local flora and fauna.
