The castle (renovated by the new owner) is a small, four-winged complex from the late Renaissance. The building is surrounded by moats on three sides. The renovated facades with local stones and corner frames in the plaster probably date back to the late 19th century. A mighty, square, slightly raised tower with a tent roof is inserted in the protruding southwest corner. There is a baroque terrace on the east side. The complex has extensive farm buildings, a two-storey, two-winged residential wing with an early historicist facade from around 1860 and a two-storey, local-framed granary with wide windows and a hipped roof from the second third of the 19th century. Events such as music festivals and fire brigade festivals take place in the granary. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schloss_Grossau

At a crossroads near Großau you will find this old wayside cross under a huge tree. The writing on the sign is no longer legible. A wooden bench invites you to take a rest in this quiet place with a panoramic view. Hikes to the nearby towns of Nonndorf, Rabesreith or Trabersdorf are possible here.
