Carlo Alberto dalla Chiesa (27 September 1920 - 3 September 1982) was a general of the Italian Carabinieri and best known for his campaign against terrorism in the 1970s in Italy. On 3 September 1982, he was shot dead in Palermo on the orders of Mafia boss (Cosa Nostra) Salvatore Riina. He and his wife were driving around in a Lancia during a night tour when a number of armed men on motorcycles and in a car forced the car carrying Dalla Chiesa off the road, causing it to crash into another vehicle. The armed men then opened fire on Dalla Chiesa, his wife and the driver.

The Villa Comunale, after recent maintenance and restoration work, shines in the public park that surrounds it, located in the heart of the city and easily reachable on foot or by bike, right in front of the entrance to the Arena 4 Palme. The villa, surrounded by greenery, was built at the end of the 19th century and today is the ideal setting for cultural and artistic events, moments of togetherness and relaxation. First of all, the Roseto Opera Prima film festival, which has been a leading national event for years. An intense week during our Roseto summer, filled with participations and screenings of films that are often a great public success. (c) https://www.visitroseto.it/places/poi-cultura/villa-comunale/
