Stuart Prouse
November 30, 2023, Redesdale Campsite

Passing through the campsite at Redesdale. This is a larger village and there are people around if needing any assistance or just to say hello to after being in quite remote locations

An aptly named highlight where there is a nice big rock for one to stand on to look out over the scenic views towards Green Crag and Ravens Knowe.

Pleasant views of the Catlee Burn to be had straight from the car park here, and the woodland, left to grow wilder here by The Forestry Commission, could allow some good picnic opportunities.

From next to the cairn on the summit, the views are impressive, particularly over Redesdale and Catcleugh Reservoir. At sunrise, when I was here, this place is basically "a paradise on Earth". By the way, if you are walking up to here from Byrness, be prepared for some serious (and I mean serious) climb. A short climb, but it will test what you're made of!

Wandering Cloud
September 12, 2023, Wigg Plantation

Wigg Plantation is a lovely and generally peaceful (though you might encounter an odd car) place to walk. The track is wide and firm underfoot, and the Wauchope Forest, within which you are, is a very green place to be. A bonus is a number of ponds you will pass, and the birdsong (though some willow warblers can be very noisy!)

Amazing place, lucky enough to walk the trails before the storms. Now closed for forestry works. Waterfall still accessible.

Hindhope Linn is a beautiful waterfall in a serene and enchanting dell. A stones-throw from the Pennine Way, this magical spot has a wonderful atmosphere.
