A guided hike through the Bigodi Wetland is definitely recommended. A very beautiful area. Great landscape and nature. Highly recommended for bird and monkey watching.

When in Rome - do as the Romans do! When in Uganda - do as the Ugandans do and that is drink their locally made beer - Enturire. This is made from Sorghum and honey is added. The first 2 days it is quite sweet then it ferments and becomes alcoholic! If you are ever in a bar in Uganda, the easiest way to make friends is buy a round of Enturire - or as they do - a Jerry can!

At Lake Bunyonyi there is a market day twice a week. The small village of Rutinda is where the market is held as it is directly at the water’s edge, making the transport of goods to and from the islands much easier. Fresh fruit, vegetables and fish are plentiful as livestock.

Very good accommodation for volunteers. Although there is only cold water and regular power outages, the housekeepers provide very tasty food.

A simple chapel where charismatic devotions take place every morning. A great way to start the day with the hospital staff.
