The building dates back to the 16th century, and wall paintings from the time of its construction are still preserved on the second floor. Today, the building houses the Reutte Market Town Museum. On display are works by the famous Zeiller family and Anna Stainer-Knittel, better known as "Geierwally." Other topics include the eventful history of the Reutte market town, the salt trade, and Ehrenberg Castle.
