The Grafenrheinfeld Nuclear Power Plant (KKG) was in operation from 1982 to 2015. It is located south of Schweinfurt near Grafenrheinfeld in Lower Franconia, on the left bank of the Main River. Construction began in 1974 by Bayernwerk AG, and commissioning took place on December 9, 1981. It is a third-generation pressurized water reactor (“pre-Konvoi” plant) with a gross electrical output of 1,345 megawatts. Annual electricity production averaged over ten billion kilowatt hours. It is operated by PreussenElektra GmbH, based in Hanover. The nuclear power plant has two widely visible cooling towers, each 143 meters high. A newly built interim storage facility for spent nuclear fuel elements began operation on March 1, 2006. The nuclear power plant was shut down on June 27, 2015. On August 16, 2024, the two cooling towers were demolished. Source: Wikipedia

The baroque hall church was completed in 1795. Inside there is a beautiful model of the church.
